Plasma, lithium heparin. Minimum 0.5 mL separated. Whole blood dried spot (Guthrie card) - at least two circles.

External Notes

In most cases, a plasma sample is likely to be more informative. A quantitative result for free carnitine is also provided. Sent to: Department of Clinical Chemistry, Sheffield Children's Hospital FOR LAB USE ONLY: Plasma, LiHep is preferred, but serum/fluoride oxalate are also possible. EDTA is not acceptable.
