Description

This service has now been withdrawn. All acute diagnoses of respiratory virus infection are made by means of the Respiratory Virus PCR screen and or Atypical Pneumonia PCR screen. Serology is now only performed for diagnosis of Mycoplasma Pneumoniae, Brucella, Psittacosis( chlamydia psitassi ) and Q fever( Coxiella burnetii )following discussion with the consultant Virologist.
