Description
Alanine transaminase ( ALT ) is a cytoplasmic enzyme found predominantly in the liver. Lesser amounts are found in skeletal muscle. Indications
As part of liver function tests.
Sample Type
Serum ( SST/Gel minimum 5ml ). Avoid haemolysis.
Reference Range
ALT ( Men ) 0 - 41 U/l ALT ( Women ) 0 - 33 U/l.( Source: Roche )
