Description

RhD negative mothers require injections of prophylactic anti-D to prevent them being immunised by fetal red cells which may enter their circulation as a result of a feto-maternal haemorrhage.


Indications

For RhD negative patients. Requests should be sent for any possible sensistising event occuring post 20 weeks gestation and at delivery.


Sample Type

Maternal - 1 x EDTA 6ml Pink + Cord/baby - 1 x EDTA 4 ml Purple if appropriate
