Description

Please note that Tobramycin assays are only carried out in the Clinical Chemistry laboratory on the Northern Campus. For any requests arising from the Central Campus, please contact the Clinical Chemistry BMS on-call so that transport across the city can be arranged.

Serum (Gel 5ml yellow or 6ml Red)

External Notes

***Please note that these assays are now processed in the Clinical Chemistry department*** For aminoglycoside assays peak levels should be taken one hour post dose. Vancomycin pre dose levels should be taken immediately before the infusion - post levels are not usually required on adults. If required, post dose levels should be taken 1 hour after the end of the infusion. The time of dosage and sampling must be stated. Other antibiotics can be monitored by arrangement.
