Description
Folates are a class of vitamin compounds related to pteroylglutamic acid ( PGA ) which serve as cofactors in the enzymatic transfer of single carbon units in a variety of metabolic pathways.
Sample Type
Serum, SST/gel tube, minimum 2 mL ( 1mL serum ). Haemolysed samples not suitable.

Haematinics can be requested up to 2 days after sample has been received this is based upon stability of analytes and period of time specimens are stored.
