Description

Globulin is a parameter calculated using measurements of total protein and albumin: globulin = total protein - albumin The globulin fraction encompasses a wide range of proteins produced by the liver and immune system including the �-globulins (e.g. IgG, IgA, IgM, IgD, IgE).


Indications

Globulin is part of a liver function test (LFT). It can be useful in cases of suspected multiple myeloma.

Serum, SST, minimum volume 2 mL (1 mL serum)
