Done when CMV IgM and IgG are both found to be positive.

External Notes

This test is usually requested from within the lab. Reported as Low, Equivocal or High. Finding of a low or equivocal avidity will require serial follow up samples to look for rises in avidity. This test is used to ascertain whether the CMV IgG reactivity is due to a recent primary infection ( within three months ).
