Indications

Monitoring of immunosuppression following organ transplantation or use in diseases such as psoriasis and ulcerative colitis.


Sample Type

Whole blood (EDTA 5ml) - TROUGH (pre-dose) samples preferred.


Reference Range

Reference ranges are not quoted: suggest discuss with responsible consultant.


Turnaround Time

Within 1 day


Testing Frequency

Daily - Monday to Friday. Requests at weekends will not be processed without prior arrangement - please contact the Duty Biochemist.


Patient Preparation

Where patients are receiving intravenous ciclosporin via a central line, avoid using the line for sampling (since results may be erroneously raised). If possible, obtain the sample from a peripheral stab.
