FBC is a broad screening test which simultaneously provides red cell indices, platelet count and white cell differential.

Whole blood - EDTA 4.0ml Lavender ( neonates MAP microtube 0.5ml pink top )

Abnormal results or analytical findings may require further investigation which may lead to delay in reporting. Interim reporting of results may be available in some cases. Clinical details must be provided to aid interpretation. Sample volume should ideally be a full draw ( 4ml ) but minimal acceptable volume is 1ml.
