Description

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a viral infection carried in the blood causing inflammation of the liver and potentially long term damage. The virus is transmitted by contact with an infected persons blood or body fluids.

Indications

To quantify and monitor the amount of Hepatitis B DNA in patients who have tested positive for the Hepatitis B virus and have active on-going infection. Monitors disease progression and response to antiviral therapies.
