External Notes

Urinary antigen can only be detected in early infection ( 0 - 14 days from onset ). Prior discussion with microbiology medical staff is required. Culture is only performed when Legionaires Disease is strongly suspected and on certain inpatient ward as predetermined by Consultant Medical Microbiologist.
