Indications

Monitoring of immunosuppression following organ transplantation.

Sample Type

Whole blood ( EDTA 5ml ) - TROUGH ( pre-dose ) samples preferred.

Testing Frequency

Daily - Monday to Friday. Requests at weekends will not be processed without prior arrangement - please contact the Duty Biochemist.

Patient Preparation

Where patients are receiving intravenous tacrolimus via a central line, avoid using the line for sampling ( since results may be erroneously raised ). If possible, obtain the sample from a peripheral stab.
