Description

Platelet membrane glycoprotein IIb / IIIa is a heterodimer complex with functions as a platelet fibrinogen receptor. Deficiency of this complex give rise to conditions such as Glanzmann's thrombasthenia and Bernard Soulier syndrome.

Suspected cases of Bernard Soulier syndrome or Glanzmanns Thrombasthenia

Whole Blood (EDTA 4.0 ML), Date and time of collection to be written on sample. Room temperature storage.

Testing Frequency

As required Monday - Friday. Sample should ideally be received by laboratory within 24 hours of collection. External samples should be sent by 1st class post according to postal regulations for transporting samples or local transport arrangements if in place.
