Description
Pneumocystis jirovecii (formerly carinii) pneumonia (PJP) is a common opportunistic pneumonia in immunocompromised patients, especially those with advanced HIV infection and AIDS.
Sample Type
Induced sputum, BAL (Please note sputum samples are unsuitable for Pneumocystis diagnosis)
