Routine Coagulation Scientific Lead & Deputy Laboratory Manager - Royal Hallamshire Hospital


Kevin has over 19 years of experience working in the field of haemostasis and thrombosis. Throughout this time he has developed and maintained invaluable professional proficiency of leadership qualities, managerial techniques and interpersonal skills. He has a broad knowledge of the whole field as well as specialising in all aspects of running the routine coagulation laboratory and platelet function analysis.

After gaining his degree in Sheffield he began as a Trainee Biomedical Scientist in 2001 working to gain state registration via the HPC log book whilst rotating through the Coagulation and Haematology laboratories. State registration was acquired in 2002 and completed the MSc. Pathological Science in 2004.

Since 2005 Kevin has been a senior member of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital coagulation team, initially as Senior Biomedical Scientist with dual responsibility as the deputy to the lead scientist in “routine coagulation” and as section lead for platelet function.  In 2019 Kevin became the Scientific Lead for Routine Coagulation and Deputy Laboratory Manager.
