Consultant Clinical Scientist and Toxicology Lead
Stephanie trained and spent her early career as a clinical scientist working in Birmingham. After moving to Nottingham in 2005 she led their specialist clinical biochemistry services and took over responsibility for the clinical and post-mortem toxicology service in 2009. Following the closure of this service she moved to Sheffield in 2018, where she leads the specialist clinical chemistry and toxicology service. Stephanie specialises in providing expert post-mortem toxicology reports for Coroners and the police across England and has authored in the region of 8 000 post-mortem toxicology reports over her career to date. Her main role at Sheffield is to drive a high quality service, using evidence based approaches and ensuring our service is at the forefront of current best practice.
