Deputy Laboratory Manager - Haematology (RHH)

Theresa started her career in haematology at Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield as a trainee biomedical scientist in 1989. Once qualified, she went on to complete her MSc and continued to develop her knowledge and skills in haematology, blood bank, cell markers, red cell investigations and coagulation.

This ignited her interest in multidisciplinary working and as training lead, implemented cross discipline training for the trainee biomedical scientists and acted as mentor for students undertaking the generic portfolio.

Returning to Sheffield in 2007 Theresa joined the team at the Northern General Hospital where she was involved with students undertaking the specialist portfolio, then moved onto quality lead for haematology. Whilst in this role, Theresa worked closely with the managerial and senior teams to ensure successful outcomes for CPA/UKAS inspections of the department.
