Richard Fleming
Quality and Governance Manager
Richard started out in industry, managing materials testing laboratories with responsibility to ensure accreditation to ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001.
He has extensive experience of quality management and laboratory accreditation and joined Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in 2004, when transition to the new CPA standards was taking place. He has since played a pivotal role in transition to ISO 15189:2012. Richard's skills are enhanced by post graduate qualifications in Clinical Audit and Effectiveness and Management in Health and Social Care.
His interests encompass all aspects of regulatory compliance and he has a key role in ensuring that our laboratory management systems comply with the relevant regulatory authorities requirements.
Richard is passionate about integrated management and the use of computerised management systems to ensure the efficient use of resources across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Laboratory Medicine.
