Laboratory Manager - Histopathology
Steph started her career in Histology at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in March 2001 as a trainee Biomedical scientist, becoming a qualified Practitioner in Biomedical Science in November 2002.
In June 2007 Steph was appointed as Senior BMS. This role included Training Officer status, responsible for departmental training. It was during this time she became involved in registration and Cell Path Specialist Diploma assessments for the IBMS.
In 2009 progressing to Deputy Manager Steph assumed operational responsibility for the scientific Histology service in STH. During this period two Histology laboratories from NGH and RHH were merged into one service at the RHH.
Steph was appointed Laboratory Manager for Histology at STH in 2016. She continues to be passionate about delivering quality care throughout the department and moving with current guidelines and innovations to keep the service up to date and at the forefront of the discipline.
